According to eyewitness accounts and preliminary reports from local police, the accident took place when Bett’s driver failed to notice the unmarked tractor ahead.

Both vehicles were traveling in the same direction when the four-wheel drive rammed into the rear of the tractor.

The tractor, which lacked appropriate signage, did not stop after the collision and proceeded to an unknown destination, prompting police to launch an investigation to trace its whereabouts.

Police reported that Franklin Bett sustained a deep cut to his forehead, while the two female passengers and the driver in his vehicle suffered minor injuries.

Emergency responders quickly transported Bett to Awasi Catholic Hospital, where he was stabilized before being referred to the Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu for further treatment.

Authorities have since towed Bett’s damaged vehicle to the police station for inspection as part of the ongoing investigation. Local law enforcement officials are working diligently to locate the driver of the tractor involved in the accident.

Bett’s accident has raised concerns about road safety, particularly regarding the visibility of slow-moving vehicles on the highways.
