Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Chairperson Gladys Wanga on Saturday, September 21 hit out at Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for unleashing little-known occurrences behind his fallout with President William Ruto.....CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL ARTICLE>>>

While addressing the media in Kisumu, the Homa Bay Governor accused Gachagua of engaging in premature politics instead of focusing on what he was elected to do as the second-in-command.

According to Wanga, the explosive interview on Citizen TVwas out of frustration that arose from President Ruto’s decision to form a broad-based government with the opposition.

She also believed that Gachagua’s remarks were intent on distracting Kenyans from focusing on serious matters and demanding accountability from the government.

“When anybody from the presidency comes out to address the country, Kenyans expect that they will hear from the presidency about the many challenges they are facing,” said Wanga, adding “The bitterness is arising from the fact that all these people, who were considered non-shareholders by the Deputy President, have come forward and are also participating in this company that is called Kenya.”

The DP was further accused of his habit of addressing members of the public in his vernacular despite being a symbol of national unity.

The Homa Bay Governor went on to call upon the Kenya Kwanza administration to focus on delivering its mandate to Kenyans instead of airing their dirty linen in public. “Be serious with the work you’re elected by the people. If you’re the DP or the President, you must be serious, instead of complaining. Kenya Kwanza’s role is clear,” Wanga added.

During the live interview on Friday night, Gachagua lamented being sidelined by President Ruto to the extent of being excluded from State functions by being removed from the Head of State’s diary.

He e ven disclosed that he and his team were removed from the WhatsApp group where the President’s itinerary is shared, presumably to exclude them from State affairs.

“About a week ago, we were removed from that diary so we were not able to follow what was going on and so we cannot align. When I am aware of where the President is, I am always there.

When I am not aware, there is nothing I can do about it,” said Gachagua, pinpointing Ruto’s private secretary Reuben Miayo who expelled him from the group and, thus cannot even attend functions of the head of State.

“It is a WhatsApp Group and it’s updated as we go on and we keep on aligning. I was removed, my private secretary and Chief of Staff was removed and so we have no access to the diary.”

However, the Head of Creative Economy and Special Projects in the Office of the President Dennis Itumbi clarified that the Deputy President knowingly failed to disclose some crucial information.

According to Itumbi, President Ruto was kicked out of the group before Gachagua over reservations about classified material being shared on the platform.

“Yes, the Diary group was deleted. What DP Rigathi fails to mention is that the President was removed even before him, and The group was permanently deleted due to the highly classified documents being shared in WhatsApp groups,” Itumbi posted.

Itumbi further stated that a decision had been made that no other WhatsAppgroup would be formed on the diary…CLICK HERE FOR MORE ARTICLE>>>
