Manchester United have recorded their first loss in 11 matches in all competitions after losing narrowly to Arsenal at the Emirates stadium....CONTINUE READING

The Red Devils who beat Arsenal in the first leg of the league encounter hoped to repeat that feat in a bid to launch a surprise title charge fell short after a late Eddie Nketiah goal gave the Gunners a sweet revenge over their arch rivals.

Speaking after the match, Manchester United boss, Erik Ten Hag was very disappointed and annoyed by the way his team lost the match.

He said: “Maybe in the next couple of hours, realise we are in a good position, but at this moment I am annoyed. I told the players if you want to win trophies, you have to change mentality because it’s not possible you are in a top game making such big mistakes.”

The Dutch tactician believes all the Arsenal goals were avoidable goals therefore, he wasn’t happy with his players.

But in my opinion, he should shoulder some of the blame for this loss. Poor game management and wrong substitutions from him did not help his team.

Antony Santos had no business being on the pitch for as long as he was. The Brazilian played 70 minutes and was completely ineffective.

With Garnacho on the bench, Ten Hag decided to bring on Fred when he took Antony off.

This was the kind of poor game management that saw Casemiro miss this match when he got a yellow card in the match against Crystal Palace. Ten Hag should’ve taken him off when his team was winning, with this match in mind.

As Manchester United players need to step up, Ten Hag also needs to get his substitutions and game management right. He has done a phenomenal job at the club this season and United fans can only be proud and hope for a brilliant future with him.
