Speaking in Wamagana town in Nyeri County during an annual Catholic youth service on Saturday, Muheria said among many things, corruption and integrity of those in leadership needs to be addressed.

“We want to use this opportunity to remind those in office that they have a sacred duty to follow the demands of the people of Kenya and follow the demands of God for honesty, integrity…they must listen, it’s not an option,” the Archbishop said.

“We are asking all those in authority to give respect to every single life and especially to the young people. Perhaps, they are not as experienced but that doesn’t mean they don’t have a good thing to contribute to us.”

“This is what the young people have been trying to tell us, is that we desire to bring this goodness to the nation and to our church,” he noted.

“I want to thank all these young people and tell them they must sustain their hope, not lose hope in terms of the desires we have but it must be channeled in a nice way, of love and of service and in the way of building our interior muscles so that we don’t become broken because of money, wealth or other things.”
