On Monday night, OBJ expressed his displeasure with INEC for not heeding the call from party agents and Nigerians to not only use the Bimodal Voter Accreditation Machine (BVAS) in collating its results but also to upload the result sheets obtained from polling units on its portal for public verification.

The former military and civilian Head of State then pleaded with President Buhari to take action by requesting that INEC not only upload the results but also hold new elections in the allegedly tainted districts.

But, based on his reaction, it seems that Ahmad Bashir didn’t think much of OBJ’s plea because he responded on his verified Twitter account.

Bashir, the president’s special adviser on digital communications, said in a tweet that Buhari would be unwilling to meddle in a democratic process being run by an organization that is regarded as independent from the government.

He wrote; “So, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo wants President Muhammadu Buhari to interfere with our electoral process halfway. That will never be done by the president. He always permits these organizations to operate on their own.
