The new Kenyan inspector general of Police is Kanja who was confirmed today by President Ruto. He now takes over officially leaving Masengeli to fight for his freedom in courts.
According to a report by Nation Africa, Judge Chacha Mwita has declined a request by Masengeli to apologize to Lawrence Mugambi. Masengeli had requested for an audience with high Court Judge who sentenced him to prison for six months.
High Court Judge Lawrence Mugambi sentenced Masengeli to prison for failing to appear in court. The embattled police was supposed to explain the abdication and disappearece of youths in Kitengela.
Masengeli Lawyer Statement.
Lawyer Dunstan Omari has claimed that Masengeli who is his client is a law abiding citizen who is ready to own his mistakes. He alleged that the deputy inspector general of Police was held up on security issues in North Eastern when he was called to appear in court.
