In a bid for Super Eagle preparation ahead of their AFCON 2021 Group D match opener With Egypt on Tuesday 11th, January 2022, a test friendly match against a Cameroonian club, Coton Sports Garoua was arranged.
A goal in each half by amazing wingers Ahmed Musa and Samuel Chukwueze secured the Super Eagles a superb 2-0 win against the Cameroon club side Coton Sport in Garoua on Friday.
Ahmed Musa find the net in the first half before Chukwueze doubled the Super Eagle’s lead in the second half.
In the friendly, for the first 45 minutes, Maduka Okoye started for the Super Eagles in the goal, while Ola Aina, William Troost-Ekong, Kenneth Omeruo and Zaidi Sanusi were in defence.
Kelechi Iheanacho, Musa and Taiwo Awoniyi headed the attack while Wilfred Ndidi, Ejuke and Joe Aribo hold the midfield.
Ahmad Musa was later reinstated by Alex Iwobi, in the course of the first half.
The second half started with Francis Uzoho at the goal, while the defence had Olisa Ndah, Semi Ajayi, Chidozie Awaziem.
Frank Onyeka, Kelechi Nwakali, Chukwueze, Moses Simon and Sadiq Umar were all in action,
Henry Onyekuru and Peter Olayinka also joined the game from the bench, replacing Iwobi and Umar respectively.
Meanwhile, a friendship between the Super Eagles first and second eleven is also still anticipated before the Super Eagles log in for their first official game in the tournament in Cameroon against Egypt on the 11th January 2022.
