Speaking during the 47th graduation ceremony at Londiani Forestry College on Friday, September 13, Duale said the leaders’ actions undermined the presidency.
The CS expressed disappointment with leaders who have taken to criticising the president despite being part of the government.
Regardless of the position you hold in government, a decent leader, a God-fearing leader must respect those in authority, especially the presidency, which is a symbol of national unity. You see a politician standing and insulting the president; I see others insulting the president,” Duale stated.
The former Defence CS pointed out that while some Kenya Kwanza leaders are vocal in attacking Ruto, they forget that they were all part of the campaign that brought him to power. He stressed that their responsibilities are collective, and it is unfair to place all the burden on the president.
“If you want to be respected by those above you, you must also show respect. So, I ask Kenya Kwanza leaders, we were all with the president; we campaigned with him.
We collectively committed ourselves to the president’s manifesto. Today, you cannot hold a position in government and at the same time contradict and say it is only the president who must deliver.
