Enlisting the guidance of local guide José, one of a handful of people who know how to reach the plane, and accompanied by a fellow adventurer, Corey set off to find the drug plane in the hope of “uncovering the mystery” surrounding Escobar’s alleged cargo plane.....CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL ARTICLE>>>

The plane went down in the Yucatan Peninsula near the town of Celestun, and was believed to be carrying vast quantities of drugs at the time.

Pablo Escobar was 17-years-old in 1966, so it’s unlikely the plane really did belong to him. Authorities also don’t know what happened to the abandoned plane’s cargo, which also vanished.

After the 12-mile hike, which Corey described as “the hardest trek he has ever done” an the “craziest adventure of his life”, the adventurer saw the plane after he he cut this way through razor grass.

Indeed, it was empty, with no seats apart rom the pilots’, and riddled with bullet holes. Just by the the rear doorway, rusted cocaine barrels wasted away in the grass.

Corey said: “Wow, man, I love this stuff. Imagine what it would’ve been like though – maybe they were shot down, maybe there was some other problem.

“I mean, this is an old plane bought on the black market, right? It would’ve been pretty hellish.”

Pondering what happened if the crew survived the crash, Corey didn’t like their chances of survival.

He said: ”I can’t imagine any human being ever being able to get through here. Especially one not used to this environment. Doesn’t know the dangers, the risk.

“Ill-equipped without mosquito repellent, without a machete, without any known direction where to go.”

He added that they would “be wrecked” by trying.

“You would die. I’m assuming what happened is they crashed, that they didn’t die, and they tried to make it back and died in the forest.”

As an alternative, he suggested the plane’s crew were rescued by a helicopter, adding: “By a cartel. There’s no cargo on this now. The cargo mysteriously disappeared. No one knows where all the snow went, but it’s not on the plane anymore…CLICK HERE FOR MORE ARTICLE>>>
