In the testimony heard on Saturday, the witness presented a DNA test report confirming that “Okoth Obado is 99.99% the father of Sharon’s daughter.”

The postmortem examination of Sharon revealed that her death was caused by “force trauma.”

In the prosecution’s closing statement, it was detailed how Sharon’s death was meticulously planned on that tragic day before her demise.

The court further heard that the deceased received a call summoning her to meet one of the accused.

“The deceased received a call from the second accused person, who was also the former governor’s assistant. They agreed to meet later that day at a hotel in Rongo, where unbeknownst to her, she would meet her death,” stated the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The last witness provided a detailed account and theory supporting the recommendation to charge the three accused individuals.

The murder trial of Sharon Otieno involved a total of 42 witnesses, each providing crucial testimonies to assist the court in its final determination.

With the trials concluded, the court is now poised to rule on whether the three accused persons should stand trial.

The prosecution has urged the court to find that Okoth Obado and the other two accused have a case to answer and should proceed to defend themselves.

The accused are facing charges related to the murder of the former Rongo University student, whose body was discovered in a forest.

They are specifically charged with the murder of Sharon and her unborn child on the night of September 3, 2018, in Homa Bay County.
