According to Elisha Ongoya, the evidence presented by the mover of the motion was not only false, and ridiculous but also embarrassing.
โThose of us who understand this motion for what it is, understand why these panel-beating maneuvers are being tried here,โ he said.
He further noted
โthe motion as approved and presented by the National Assembly will remain in our constitutional history as the most embarrassing motion ever approved by a house of Parliament in the Commonwealth.โ
In the motion by Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse, Gachagua faces 11 charges. In submission, Ongoya cited the claim in which Gachagua has allegedly interfered with the KTDA reforms.
Mutuse is a first term MP having been elected on the Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) party ticket.
Kibwezi West is one of the six constituencies in Makueni County.
The little-known politician holds a Bachelorโs Degree and a Master of Laws from the University of Nairobi (UoN) which he attained in 2016.
Lawyer Ongoya noted that no statement, affidavit or correspondence from any official of KTDA has been provided to support the motion.
โIt is just a claim which the mover of this motion said and told the National assembly to believe his word for what it is and they believed him,โ he stated.
He also wondered how the DP could dragged into the renovation of his residence yet the National Assembly approved money for the purpose.
