This comesย following Maanzo’s claimsย that both Presidentย William Rutoย and Raila had received money from the Adani Group, an Indian conglomerate.

According to Maanzo, the company allegedly funded Raila’s 2012 presidential campaign when he vied with Kalonzo as his running mate.

During an interview on Citizen TV on Tuesday, October 15, Kalonzo expressed his disapproval of Maanzo’s allegations.

The Wiper leader stressed the importance of Maanzo maintaining respect for Raila, who continues to lead Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party.

“I have called Dan Maanzo and told him to apologise to Baba because he is still his party leader as of now,” Kalonzo stated.

The former vice president strongly denied any association with the Adani Group, adding that he didn’t know of such contributions to Raila’s 2012 campaign.

“I have no idea who Adani is. I wouldnโ€™t know, how would I know? I have never met them,” Kalonzo said, rejecting he was aware of the links.

Kalonzo pointed out that as Raila’s running mate in 2012, he was not privy to the inner workings of his fundraising efforts.

He explained that such responsibilities typically fall on the candidates themselves, and it would not have been appropriate for him to inquire.

“When you have a presidential candidate, how they organise their finances, it is all left to themselves. When it comes to fundraising, for a presidential campaign, it is different. I never asked Raila Odinga how much money you have or have you raised โ€ฆit was not appropriate,” Kalonzo explained.

Meanwhile, Azimio La Umoja Oneย Kenyaย Coalition parties filed a lawsuit to challenge Adani Group’s acquisition of JKIA.

The Wiper Party, KANU, DAP Kenya, and the Jubilee Party joined in the matter of the alleged illegal alienation of JKIA, a strategic national asset, against Adani Airports Holdings and others.

Kalonzo said in a tweet on Monday, September 23, that the first petition against the Indian firm’s proposal was amended to include the three parties.

In the first hearing, the High Court granted prayers to the Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) and the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) and issued an orderย blocking the implementation of Adani Airports PLC’s proposal to take over the airportโ€ฆCLICK HERE TO READ MORE ARTICLES>>>
