According to The Punch, Tinubu, the presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress, requested on Tuesday that the Court of Appeal in Abuja order INEC to get him access to sensitive materials that were utilized in the poll.

In order to prepare his defense against petitions that would seek to invalidate his election, Tinubu stated through his attorney, Mr. Akintola Makinde, that he would need to examine, scan, and make duplicates of some of the electoral papers.

While the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, were mentioned as respondents in Tinubu’s first ex-parte application, which was filed on March 6, the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, were cited as respondents in the second application, along with INEC.

The resources will be helpful for us as we formulate our arguments and compare them to the data on INEC’s back-end server, according to Makinde.

Nevertheless, in rendering its decision on Wednesday, a three member panel of the court granted the reliefs requested by Tinubu and the APC in the fourth ex-parte application, with the exception of requests 5 and 6 in the motion filed by Tinubu.
