In the first half of the season, one team plays 19 games and must face all clubs in the top flight in that run. However, although Manchester United have now played 20 games, they are still yet to face one team in the Premier league this season;
Leeds United
The Red Devils were poised to face the Peacocks back in September, but that game was postponed after the English top flight took a short break as a mark of respect following the death of Queen Elizabeth.
To this, the Premier league were unable to find a convenient date to fix that game in the first half of the season especially with the FIFA World Cup that took place.
As it stands, the two teams will face each other twice in the same week with United welcoming Leeds to Old Trafford on February 8th, before travelling to Elland Road four days later. The Premier League acknowledge this is a unique circumstance but they are keen to avoid fixture congestion later in the season.
United will be big favourites in these two ties and under normal circumstances, they should take all six points.
