Liverpool started the winter transfer window with great success when they signed Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven. They have obtained the services of the Dutch player from the Eredivisie club for a fee of up to 50 million euros.

With the Red Devils sitting ninth in the Premier League, fans are clamoring for the club to sign a midfielder. However, Jurgen Klopp has poured cold water on the possibility of more players arriving at Anfield this month. He said so in The Athletic:

“Our squad is not too small; it’s just that we have players who are not ready.” Is this the right time to become stronger? I cannot see him. I can’t change my answer every week because the situation doesn’t change even after losing another game.

Meanwhile, it is reported that the Merseyside-based club has had the opportunity to sign Danjuma. According to the aforementioned source, the player’s agent has approached the British giants to discuss a potential transfer. It is not clear whether Liverpool will react positively to the recruitment of the Dutch international.

With Darwin Nunez, Roberto Firmino, and Diogo Jota set to return to action soon, they don’t need another striker as things stand. Midfield has proven to be a major problem area for the Anfield side so far this season.
