It will be the very first meeting between Chelsea and RB Salzburg when both teams clash in the UEFA Champions League today.
The Blues have only lost one of their previous four games against any Austrian sides in European competition (won 1 and drew 2), although the most recent of those matches came against FK Austria Wien in the Cup Winners’ Cup back in1994.
The Austrian side, RB Salzburg on the other hand, has never beaten an English side in any European competition in six attempts (drew 1 and lost 5).
Since drawing against Blackburn in the UEFA Cup back in September 2006, they have lost all five of their meetings with English opposition.

With N’golo Kante still out injured, Graham Potter might be forced to start Jorginho and Kovacic in the midfield position. Raheem Sterling could take the attacking position alongside Christian Pulisic and Kai Harvertz in the left and right wings.
Cucurella, Kalidou Koulibaly, Thiago Silva, a Reece James could be fielded in the backline for Chelsea against RB Salzburg. While Edouard Mendy remains the first-choice goalkeeper for the UEFA Champions League Matchday two.

Chelsea still has two players who are yet to be confirmed for the UEFA Champions League group stage game against RB Salzburg. N’golo Kante won’t be available for Chelsea’s game against West Ham United later today due to injury.

The UEFA Champions League group stage game between Chelsea and RB Salzburg will be played at the Stamford Bridge Stadium later today and will start at exactly 8:00 pm Nigerian time.
