Gabriel Martinelli scored the first goal of the 2022/2023 season after an Olexandr Zinchenko assist. This came from a setpiece situation that Martinelli easily netted. Last season’s first goal was scored by a Brentford player.
Martinelli was one of the brightest players during Arsenal’s pre-season. He was unlucky not to score a lot of goals though as compared to the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka. Nketiah also got a couple even though the young Brazilian was one of the most tireless workers.
In the reverse fixture last season, Arsenal did not manage a goal.
