A guy may feel driven to be married more than once because of societal expectations, personal goals, or a womanโ€™s infertility. Some studies have shown that polyamorous women experience higher rates of loneliness and jealousy. A few males in the Bible, like Abraham and Elkana, are recorded as having married multiple wives. The two Hannahs and Peninnah I each tied the knot.

A bishop must be โ€œblameless,โ€ โ€œvigilant,โ€ โ€œsober,โ€ โ€œof excellent behaviour,โ€ โ€œcommitted to hospitality,โ€ and โ€œqualified to instruct,โ€ according to 1 Timothy 3:1.
