The Uruguay international impressed on a season-long loan at Fiorentina last summer and although the Serie A outfit are trying to sign him, it’s becoming difficult.

Torreira went on record earlier this month that he wants to leave Arsenal on a permanent basis.

But the Italian club have reportedly angered their North London counterparts.

Last week, Di Marzio claimed that Arsenal had received a £6 million offer from Fiorentina.

And now Fiorentina.it is reporting that the aforementioned bid has ‘greatly annoyed’ top-ranking figures at the Emirates Stadium due to how low the offer was – and they’re not even going to respond to it.

The report claims there was already ‘tense relations’ between both outfits, stemming from the January transfer window when Arsenal failed to get Dusan Vlahovic off the Gigliati.

And this development, if true, is only going to make things more difficult.

It may or may not be to Fiorentina, but the Arsenal midfielder is still definitely going.

Mikel Arteta has no long-term vision for the player and with his contract expiring next summer, and Mohamed Elneny signing an extension last month, there’s no way Torreira is going to be at the club beyond August.

Gunners’ supporters will pinch themselves in disbelief if he were to get sold for £6 million.

One year left on his contract or not, this was a player who they valued at £45 million only three years ago [The Sun] following a brilliant first season in England under Unai Emery.

So to be selling him for peanuts now is going to be a bitter pill to swallow.
