The truth of the matter is that this season has been a very dreadful one for both Manchester United players and fans. It is a season that Manchester united fans would like to forget in a hurry. The red devils have now appointed Erik Ten Hag from Ajax to replace Rangnick next season. Erik Ten Hag will be expected to restore confidence in the squad next season and also try to build a team that can holdup play and retain about 70% of the ball possession
The 3-4-1-2 is one formation that I hope Ten Hag would adopt if he really wants to achieve his set objectives.
David De Gea will be expected to start in goal for the red devils. It is very obvious that Harry Maguire will not be starting in that Manchester united defence. Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof and Erik Bailey might be starting in that defence.
In the Midfield, Donny Van De Beek and Kalvin Phillips will be pairing as the holding midfielders while Bruno Fernandes will be exploring the attacking midfield position. Jadon Sancho and Ronaldo will be starting from the flanks while a possible new signing like Darwin Nunez will be starting in that central attacking position.
