Eddie Howe’s side started the game on the front foot and dominated almost every minute of the game, but couldn’t break through Arsenal’s stoutly defense during the first half.
After the restart, the Magpies were relentless and later forced an own goal from Arsenal Defender, Ben White to go one goal up, but it was an 85th stunning strike from Burno Guimaraes that fully dented the visitors’ Champions league hopes.
It was a brilliant display from Newcastle tonight and they deserved all the three points at the end.
Meanwhile, Arsenal’s top four hopes are now out of their hands, as they will need to have to depend on already-relegated Norwich City to get the better of Tottenham on the final matchday of the season.
