It was an impressive performance from Jurgen Klopp’s men but the manager wouldn’t be too pleased with the outcome of the contest.
Aston Villa started the game on the front foot as it took them just three minutes to grab the lead. Douglas Luiz found the back of the net with a sublime strike to put Aston Villa in control.
Liverpool grabbed an equaliser in the 6th minute as Matip tapped the ball home from close range.
Things got even better for Liverpool in the 65th minute. It was Sadio Mane who found the back of the net with a powerful header from 9 yards.
One of the major talking points of the game was Klopp’s reaction when Fabinho got himself injured in the 27th minute of the game.
Jurgen Klopp was spotted laughing before he decided to substitute the sensational midfielder. It remains unclear why Klopp was amused considering the fact that he will face Chelsea in coming days.
