Galatasaray are making significant strides in their pursuit of Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen, aiming to secure a permanent transfer from Napoli.
Reports in Turkey revealed that Galatasaray have successfully found a sponsor willing to cover 70% of the transfer fee, which is a promising development in their negotiations.
According to reports from Turkish outlet Milliyet, the Turkish champions are contemplating a slight reduction of the proposed €75 million fee to €70 million, considering the payments already made. They have engaged with two prominent companies in Turkey, one of which has agreed to subsidize the transfer cost in exchange for a 30% share of the fee.
Napoli are asking for €25 million upfront, with the remainder to be paid in two instalments, prompting Galatasaray to actively seek resources to facilitate the deal.
The club is moving quickly, especially after Fenerbahçe indicated an interest in the Nigerian striker through their coach, José Mourinho.
While there was initial relief when Victor Osimhen expressed his happiness at Galatasaray, the Turkish side are keen to convince the Serie A club to proceed with the transfer.
Fenerbahçe have also been exploring options for acquiring Osimhen, with agent Mirsad Türkcan initiating discussions related to the transfer fee.
They have received positive feedback from potential sponsors, but they have yet to meet with the player. Despite this, Fenerbahçe are optimistic about securing his signature, bolstered by a good relationship with Napoli following the Eljif Elmas’ transfer.
Acquiring Osimhen represents a substantial investment, as the transfer fee is estimated at €75 million, and the player would earn approximately €12 million annually, totalling around €36 million over three seasons.
To advance the transfer, Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek is assembling a dedicated team, including Kavukcu and Buruk. This team plans to meet with agent George Gardi in Italy to discuss the next steps.
Osimhen has made an impressive impact since joining Galatasaray in September, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in just nine matches across all competitions, highlighting his value to the team.
