Gituku who spoke during a popular program News Gang Thursday night said the screenshot shared on the social media of the alleged group is genuine.

He said President William Ruto, among senior officials, were also removed from the forum.

“I can confirm here that removals happened. It appears that everybody who was a member of that group, based on what you can see, including the president was removed,” he said.

Gituku had been asked whether he looked at the DP’s phone to confirm if he had indeed been kicked out as claimed.

During the interview in he hosted last Friday, Gachagua went on record alleging that he had been removed from the group including some of his staff.

“We have a WhatsApp group diary for the President where I’m there; my Chief of Staff is there, and all his issues are there, so we align. About a week ago, we were removed from that diary, so we are not able to follow exactly what is going on, we are unable to align,” he said.

Gachagua alleged mischief from people to remove him from the President’s diary in a bid to paint him as an ‘abscondee’.

“Sometimes they want me to get late so that it appears disrespectful. I want to ask the people who work around the presidency not to create conflict between the President and me. I’m the Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya elected by the people and the Principal Assistant,” Gachagua stated.

Gituku, however, added that it was not clear whether after removal, a new group was formed or the same group reconvened.

Head of Creative Economy and Special Projects in the Office of the President, Dennis Itumbi who responded to the claims while sharing the screenshot of the group said it was not Gachagua only who had been removed.

According to Itumbi, Ruto was the first person to be removed from the said WhatsApp group.

He went on to say that the group was deleted after highly classified documents in it were being shared with other groups.

“Yes, the Diary group was deleted. What DP @rigathi fails to mention is that the President was removed even before him, and The group was permanently Deleted due to the highly classified documents being shared in WhatsApp groups,” Itumbi said…CLICK HERE TO READ MORE ARTICLES>>>
