While the leaders themselves have remained silent on the grounds of their differences, their allies have engaged in mutual accusations of betrayal and sabotage. Supporters of the President have reportedly explored various strategies to remove Gachagua from his position.

Gachagua, who has become increasingly vocal in recent days, has stopped just short of directly blaming Ruto for his troubles.
