The controversy began when Dolly Parton contacted the entrepreneur, requesting that he purchase some of her non-stick pans as gifts for his wife.

Instead of a polite response, Murage’s reply contained derogatory remarks towards the businesswoman. The incident sparked outrage from his followers, casting negativity against his company.

In his apology, Murage explained that other administrators and moderators manage his social media page because he is in China.

As a gesture of goodwill, Murage promised to buy non-stick sufurias from Dolly Parton upon his return to Kenya. He also assured the public that measures would be taken internally to prevent such incidents in the future.

Murage’s case blew up after lawyer Wahome Thuku shared the incident online, which quickly went viral.  Kenyans rallied behind Dolly on social media, condemning Murage’s behaviour and offering support for her business.
