Ashiru criticized the NDLEA, questioning why no charges have been filed if such substances were truly found at his home.

In response to the accusations, Ashiru called the NDLEA’s claims “baseless and speculative,” suggesting they were a retaliation for his previous statements labeling the agency as “the most corrupt and compromised government institution.”

He emphasized that the agency should focus on prosecuting suspects in court rather than engaging in media-driven accusations.

The senator also urged the NDLEA to address internal corruption and “weed out bad actors” within the organization instead of seeking attention through unfounded allegations.

He further clarified that none of the individuals mentioned by the NDLEA are employed by him.

Ashiru, through a statement released by his media aide, questioned why these accusations only surfaced after he criticized the agency on the Senate floor, and challenged the NDLEA to produce evidence of any charges against those allegedly involved.
