This is courtesy of his declarations that he is not retiring from active politics and recent denials that he endorsed Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

Things look good for him in 2027, if he vies, thanks to the major blunders being made by President William Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza government.

First, Ruto’s government has brought with it suffering and struggle among Kenyans, thanks to his tax policies, which might make some of those who voted for him try to punish him come 2027.

He has also failed to address the high cost of living problem, resulting in calls for renewed protests and street demonstrations from some Kenyans.

This would make things easier for Raila, as he will be up against a person who a good number of Kenyans believe has failed to address their problems.

The coming together of unhappy Ruto supporters and his (Raila) traditional support bases will give him an upper hand and leave Ruto struggling.

Third is Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s remarks about Kenya being a shareholding company, a remark that has been understood to mean those who didn’t fully support Ruto are on the outside.

Going by last year’s presidential election results, Raila would only need 200,000 votes from disenfranchised communities to turn the tables on Ruto.

There was also the arguement that Raila lost in 2022 because of being aligned with the government.

Now that he’s outside and being seen criticising the administration of the day, which is at the same time making major political blunders, things look better for him, as he gives himself the image of a public interest defender against an underperforming government...CONTINUE READING>>
