At some point in their lives, 40% of women will experience a UTI. Although other types of pathogenic bacteria can occasionally be involved, E. coli is the most common type of bacterium to cause UTIs.

Although the urethra, bladder, ureters, and kidneys are all parts of the urinary system that can be affected by a urinary tract infection (UTI), this condition typically starts in these areas.

These foods, according to Healthline, can help to avoid infections by cleansing the urinary tract and clearing up illnesses.

1. Uva ursi (Bearberry leaf).

Urinary tract infections can be treated using uva ursi, commonly known as bearberry leaf or Arctostaphylos uva ursi.

It is harvested from a wild flowering bush. Bears enjoy eating the berries of the plant, therefore the name bearberry leaf. The leaves can be collected, dried, and steeped to make tea, or leaf extracts can be taken orally.

2. Garlic.

Garlic has a long history of use in both traditional medicine and culinary preparations. 3. Green tea.

Green tea is produced from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. Due to its vast pharmacological potential, it has been utilized for thousands of years in a variety of conventional medical operations.

Even though having a UTI might make urinating painful, it’s important to consume adequate fluids, especially water. The average adult needs to consume six to eight 8-ounce glasses of water daily. Drinking more will increase urination, which can help flush out harmful bacteria from the urinary system.
