The kidneys are a pair of important organs positioned on either side of the spine at the bottom of the rib cage. They carry out many essential functions for health, including waste products and excess fluid removal from the body in form of urine.

Kidney disease reduces the kidneys’ ability to perform the above functions.

Diabetes on the other hand refers to a medical condition that occurs due to high levels of sugar content in the blood. This medical condition is a risk factor for kidney disease.

Lessen your fruit juices intake and other sugar-sweetened beverages if you are suffering from kidney disease and diabetes.

These drinks seem to contain added sugar in high amounts that can lead to a rapid increase in blood sugar. This calls for concern because diabetes affects your body’s capacity to absorb sugar effectively, and prolonged high blood sugar levels can cause various health complications.

3. Potatoes and sweet potatoes

Potatoes and sweet potatoes are rich sources of potassium, of which people with kidney disease should be concerned, particularly those with late-stage kidney disease.
