Man United Troll Man City After Ruben Amorim Demolition Job

Man United took a subtle jab at Man City after incoming manager Ruben Amorim led his Sporting CP team to a 4-1 Champions League victory over City on Tuesday (November 5).

Pep Guardiola’s side ended the game with 73 per cent possession but nothing to show for it, with a hattrick from Viktor Gyokeres and a lovely curling effort from Maximiliano Araujo canceling out Phil Foden’s opener.

The Lisbon club paid homage to their beloved and departing manager before the game, unfurling a large tifo thanking him and wishing him well in his last game at the Estadio Jose Alvalade.

Amorim, 39, will take over at Man United after the November international break, relieving interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy as a new era at Old Trafford begins.

Man United eagerly anticipate Ruben Amorim’s arrival

Man United are in desperate need of a hero. Erik ten Hag left the club in a dire state, 14th in the Premier League after nine games with no sign of improvement upon his previous two campaigns.

Van Nistelrooy has steadied the ship somewhat, comprehensively beating Leicester 5-2 in the League Cup and earning a point in a drab 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Sunday (November 3).

Still, the club are clearly excited about Amorim, especially after Sporting’s massive win over City, taking to X, formally known as Twitter, to repost the announcement after the game.

The excitement around the appointment is well deserved, Sporting are the only club in Europe’s top six leagues to have a 100 per cent record after their opening 10 league games.

Man United and the Premier League are a totally different beast, however, with a trip to newly promoted Ipswich Town on November, 24th, set to be Amorim’s first game at the helm.
