The payment is scheduled to take effect from October 2024.
This development was announced by Commissioner for Information Prince Okey Kanu during a press briefing, following Mondayโs State Executive Council meeting chaired by Governor Otti.
According to Kanu, the state government is committed to enhancing workersโ welfare, and payment of the new minimum wage will commence within days.
โThe state government is committed to the minimum wage, and within the next few days, payment of the new minimum wage will commence,โ Kanu stated.
He added, โIf the governor wants to deviate from the national standard and pay higher, so be it.โ
