Naija News understands that the rumored suspension stems from allegations that Wike and three former governors worked against the PDP during the 2023 general elections.
Speaking after a meeting with members of the National Assembly on Monday, Oyinlola characterized the speculation as mere rumor.
He stated, โUntil after the committeeโs meeting on Tuesday with the National Working Committee (NWC), I will regard Wikeโs suspension as nothing more than rumors.โ
Oyinlola, a former governor of Osun State, explained that the meeting with lawmakers focused on understanding the political challenges facing the party and finding ways to revitalize its fortunes.
โWe have had useful discussions and received valuable suggestions on how to unite our party and make it a formidable force again,โ he said.
He stressed that unity is crucial for the partyโs success, adding, โFor any party to go into battle and win, it must be united. That is our goal.โ
Oyinlola also revealed that the reconciliation committee had completed a tour of the South West, where the party is strategizing for the upcoming Ondo State governorship election scheduled for November 16.
