This is the aggregated views of some residents of Awka and Enugu on Monday. The group had passed the message across in a viral video.

According to Thomas Eze, a trader in Enugu, โ€œSit-at-home has been reduced to nothing in Enugu State. Banks, shops and businesses have been operating since its cancellation by the state government. Even when the latest one was declared, no one took them seriously.

โ€œBut when we heard about the massacre of some innocent people at Nibo in Anambra State on Sunday, we became cautious.โ€

Mrs Clara Eze said she did not prepare her daughter for school today. She said, โ€œMy daughter attends University Secondary School. The school doesnโ€™t observe sit-at-home.

โ€œBut today, I told her not to go. I would have allowed her to go as usual, but the fear of what happened in Anambra State made me tell her not to prepare today.

The victims were neutralised while celebrating the Onwa Asaa Festival. Police say they have launched a manhunt of the killers. The incident occurred close to Anambra Governorโ€™s Lodge.
