Mary Wambui Mungai

Mary Wambui Mungai is one of the key figures identified, having acquired two off-plan plots in Al Yufrah 3, Dubai, for a total of $817,060 (Ksh 105.4 million) on April 7, 2016.

Al Yufrah 3 is a self-sustaining community noted for its green spaces and mixed-use development.

Wambui’s substantial yet unexplained political ties raise concerns about how she financed these acquisitions.

In 2022, Wambui became the chairperson of the Communications Authority of Kenya (CAK) and served on the board of Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).

She is the sole owner of Purma Holdings Limited and Enterprise Supplies Limited, two companies embroiled in scandals involving irregular tendering processes with the Government of Kenya.

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are currently investigating these companies for supplying cooking oil, rice, and beans to the Kenya National Trading Corporation (KNTC).

An audit report revealed that over Ksh 15.72 billion in expenditures for these supplies remain unaccounted for, with allegations of corruption surfacing regarding the awarding of tenders.

Deepak Kamani has also acquired office units at Ksh 76 million ($589,400) in Tiffany Towers.

The notorious Anglo Leasing scandal, which involved the fraudulent procurement of government contracts, is associated with the Kamanis.

Kamlesh Mansukhlal Damji Pattni

The leaked property ownership data also implicates Kamlesh Pattni, infamous for his involvement in the Goldenberg Affair.

According to reports, Pattni owns three flats in Dubai’s Discovery Gardens, valued at a total of Ksh 56.5 million ($438,345).
