The renowned activist and civic educator has encouraged Kenyans to turn up in huge numbers for the cleanup that will be in remembrance of Kenyaโ€™s fallen and standing heroes. He pointed out that the meeting point will be communicated.

Under the hashtag #FagiaKwako, Morara reiterated that the cleanup will extend beyond Narok and pressed Kenyans to clean up their houses, streets, estates and towns.

In a video shared on his social media, he quelled calls for protests on the said date stating that the need to promote civic education is far greater than protests.

โ€œTo those who have asked for urgent street protests against the ills of this government, I agree with you. However, I urge you to build momentum before you engage.โ€

โ€œ Civic education is still needed in 70 percent of our nation for a national consensus on the change we want.โ€

Morara maintained that the quest to advance civic education is for every Kenyan and should not be only limited to the Gen Zs and people living in urban areas.

โ€œThis struggle is for all of us. It should not be left to the youth, the Gen Z, or the people in towns and cities alone. We need everyone on board. Every Kenyan, from every walk of life, home and abroad should make a personal effort in bringing the change we want.โ€

In the address, he expressed his expectation that Kenyans will come together to contribute the change they want across all levels in the country.

โ€œI look forward to seeing groups and communities of individuals coming together to create awareness in villages and in settlements about issues of tribalism, corruption, failure of healthcare, failure of education, poor infrastructure, disregard of human life and other painful Kenyan experiences.โ€

The lawyer turned activist stressed that enough civic education would assist Kenyans in achieving their democratic rights and freedoms. โ€œIf we do enough civic education, we will not fail in any street demonstration, nor will we fail at changing the ballot. Our key is enlightenment, our padlock is the Kenyan mind.โ€
