Mendy, now playing for French Ligue 2 club Lorient, claims Manchester City withheld ยฃ11.5 million in wages after his charging, despite being cleared of all charges.

An employment tribunal heard that Mendy’s ยฃ500,000 monthly wage was stopped by the Premier League champions following his arrest.

The 30-year-old French international’s contract included lucrative bonuses for match appearances, Champions League qualification, and image rights.

Court documents showed Mendy struggled financially, selling his Cheshire mansion to cover legal fees, bills, and child support payments.

In a witness statement, Mendy expressed gratitude to his teammates for their support:

“Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva, and Riyad Mahrez all lent me money to help me try and pay my legal fees and support my family.”

Mendy’s agent, Meissa N’diaye, also contributed to his legal fees.

The left-back described the day of his charging as “the day my life was turned upside down forever.”

The employment tribunal continues, with Mendy seeking compensation for “unauthorised deductions” from his wagesโ€ฆCLICK HERE TO READ MORE ARTICLES>>>
