On Saturday, September 28, 2024, Omar revealed at a party in Mombasa that a considerable number of UDA MPs had already stated their support for the impeachment motion of Gachagua.

He pointed out that the party would probably go with the majority.

โ€œMost of our members of parliament have reliably informed me that many from the UDA party have appended their signatures and are in support of that motion of impeachment,โ€ Omar said.

โ€œI believe we will align with the majority of UDA party members.โ€ The UDA party will back whatever its members believe is in the best interests of the party and the nation if the majority of its members embrace the impeachment.

The UDA Secretary-General emphasized that if the impeachment went through Parliament, Gachagua would face immediate expulsion from the party.

Omar charged Gachagua with promoting a divisive ideology that jeopardizes the long-term viability of the nation and erodes national unity, including its constitution.

Getting rid of him from the party will be our first objective if the impeachment motion is successful.

This is due to the fact that it is impossible to establish his egregious ineptitude, jeopardize national unity and the constitution, and let him continue to be a leading figure in this party.

He emphasized that Gachagua has been a factor undermining the administration and working against the core principles of the UDA and the โ€œHustler Nationโ€.

Omar went on to denounce Gachaguaโ€™s remarks, saying it goes against the unity that President William Ruto has been working to establish since he took office.

โ€œYou cannot preach the gospel of ethnicity, malice, division, the gospel of exclusion, or the gospel that incites one group of people against another.โ€

The hustling nation painstakingly sewed this country together, and he has been instrumental in keeping it that way.

Omar underlined that Gachagua poses a danger to the unity and cohesiveness of the country, and his prolonged membership in the party would be unacceptable.

โ€œI believe itโ€™s unacceptable to have a deputy president who poses an immediate danger to national unity,โ€ Omar saidโ€ฆCLICK HERE TO READ MORE ARTICLES>>>
