According to a list shared by the Standard Media Group, two current governors are among those being considered to replace the Deputy President, who is currently facing an impeachment motion in both Parliament and court.
The two governors include Kirinyaga County governor Ann Waiguru, who is also the council of governors chairperson, and the governor for Muranga Irungu Kangata, who is yet to speak out on the the impeachment of Rigathi.
Others are members of Parliament led by the leader of the majority in Parliament kimani Ichungwa, who has been on the forefront to push for the impeachment of the deputy president despite the strong resistance from his backyard.
The others include Kiharu legislator Ndindi Nyoro, who did not append his signature on the impeachment form tabled in Parliament, together with Laikipia East legislator Mwangi Kiunjuri a former cabinet secretary in Uhuru’s regime.
