Barasa said that once they register for the Social Health Authority (SHA) program in Eldoret, Kenyans will be able to get free medication from lower public health facilities.

Level 4, 5, and 6 facilities will provide services for a fee of 2.75 percent of your income. The Health CS added, “Cancer, diabetes, and other patients will be covered.”

Additionally, Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii promised residents that the insurance will alleviate financial burdens for families with chronically ill patients.

Bii criticized a group of leaders for what he described as their opposition to significant government projects.
