Sen. Cherarkey Samson Kiprotich of Nandi County has proposed a bill that would increase the terms of MPs and the President by 5 to 7 years.

The bill proposes to amend Article 177 of the Constitution to change the term of County Assembly members from five to seven years.

The Bill additionally proposes to amend Article 10(1) to extend the term of a Member of Parliament from five years to seven years.
