The victim’s kin while addressing the press outside Nakuru Law Courts, clarified that Wambua was yet to be found despite concerted efforts to trace her.

โ€œWe are here to say that we have not found Victoria and this information that claimed we have found Victoria came from Mombasa but it was not confirmed,โ€ noted a family member.

According to Victoria’s family, an individual who purported to be a police officer from Mombasa called a preacher who has close ties with the victimโ€™s mother claiming that Victoria had been found in critical condition in Migori.

While narrating the ordeal, Victoriaโ€™s kin alleged how the police imposter swindled Ksh20,000 which was ostensibly supposed to be a form of appreciation for finding Victoria.

During the phone call, the imposter further claimed that the money would partly help airlift Victoria to Mombasa for specialised treatment.

โ€œWe have not found her and the information came because someone called my auntโ€™s pastor posing as a cop saying that Victoria had been found critically injured in Migori and demanded Ksh20,00 to airlift her to Mombasa for treatment,” narrated Wambua’s kin.

“Unfortunately, the pastor had already sent the Ksh20,000. The phone was later switched off but we have the transaction message showing the details of the receiver.”

The latest development comes a day after police officers arrested a suspect believed to be behind Victoria Mumbua’s disappearance. According to a police report, the victim’s car was traced to Nakuru. The vehicle was recovered from aman whom police believed to be Victoria’s regular client.

Wambua left home on September 25 at around 5.30 am for a trip. Her family would later raise concerns after she failed to be in contact with her family for a long period.

Meanwhile, details of her phone call would later reveal she made a call while in Samburu Village in Kwale County after which her phone was switched offโ€ฆCLICK HERE TO READ MORE ARTICLES>>>
