According to a Gazette Notice issued by the Registrar of Political Parties Ann Nderitu on Friday, September 27, the ruling party will receive Ksh558.4 million this year.
Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s ODM will receive Ksh298.3 million.
“The allocated funds will be disbursed on a quarterly basis upon receipt from the National Treasury,” read the notice in part.
Other parties with significant allocation include the Jubilee Party which is led by former President Uhuru Kenyatta. The party is set to receive Ksh130.8 million.
Azimio’s Wiper party was also listed among the parties to receive funding with an allocation of Ksh69.8 million.
Democratic Action Party-Kenya (DAP-K) which is led by Eugene Wamalwa will receive Ksh30,621,843 while Amani National Congress (ANC) which was associated with Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi will receive Ksh25,758,881.
Ford-Kenya will receive Ksh25 million while KANU was listed to receive Ksh23.2 million.
On the Other hand, Martha Karua’s Narc-Kenya part will receive Ksh7,314,719.
“Monies allocated to a registered political party or coalition political party shall be used for purposes compatible with democratic principles including promoting active participation by individual citizens in political life,” Nderitu’s party explained.
