Six Candidates Have Been Shortlisted For The Position Of Deputy Governor Of The CBK

The law requires the bank to have two deputies.

Susan Koech who was appointed in March 2022 is the only deputy governor at the moment.

CBK had for years operated in breach of the law that requires the regulator to have two deputy governors after the exit of the Sheile M’Mbijjewe.

The vacancy was advertised in the print media and on the Commission’s website on March 30, 2023.

The interviews are set to take place on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the Public Service Commission’s offices located at Commission House on Harambee Avenue, Nairobi.

The shortlisted candidates are Prof. Dulacha Galgallo Barako ( Marsabit), Gerald Nyaoma Arita (Kisii County), Jane Wangui Kiringai (Nyeri County), Charles Mutuma Ringera (Meru County), Dr Florence Koki Kinyanzui (Makueni) and Dr Habil Okunda Olaka (Kakamega).

Candidates are required to appear at least 15 minutes before their scheduled interview times.

They are required to carry with them their original National Identity Cards, academic and professional certificates, transcripts, and other supporting documents, including clearances from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), and Credit Reference Bureau certificate.

Additionally, they must submit a stamped Self-Declaration Form from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and proof of recognition of qualifications from the Commission for University Education (CUE) for those who obtained degrees from foreign institutions.

PSC has invited members of the public to participate by submitting any credible information regarding the shortlisted candidates.
