POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Isaac was reacting on his known Facebook page to a past video of Ayu promising to resign if a northerner becomes the PDP presidential candidate for the 2023 election.

“If the PDP says I should step down after a presidential candidate emerges and happens to be in the north, I will be very glad to do so.”

Following concerns that the north is dominating the affairs of the party, Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers, and several top PDP members in his group are demanding that Ayu should step down. But Ayu has since dismissed the call.
