Recall that ISWAP insurgents had earlier sent a letter threatening to attack some communities in Adamawa State during the yuletide period, thus compelling many residents of the state to cancel their planned visits.
Considering the recent gesture of the governor, I deduced reasons why both Governor El-Rufai of Kaduna and Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto States should imitate what Governor Fintiri did.
Kaduna State has been a war front lately considering how bandits have been unleashing attacks, killing and abducting people at will and little or nothing is being done about it. Just recently, 20 people were killed by bandits in the Giwa local government area of the state and the state governor is yet to commiserate with the aggrieved families of the victims.
Perhaps, Governor El-Rufai replicating in Kaduna what Fintiri did in his state will help give the countless aggrieved Kaduna indigenes a sense of comportment that the governor has their welfare at heart since the numerous promises of subduing insecurity in the state is yet to be fulfilled.
Governor Tambuwal on his part has a great responsibility to play considering the fact that incessant killings by bandits and terrorists have plagued the state lately. Sokoto which has its prestige as the Seat of the Caliphate is gradually becoming a shadow of itself as a result of how people are now being killed and burnt alive by outlaws. Perhaps, it would be wise for Governor Tambuwal to imitate what his colleague (Fintiri) did to douse the tension in the state a bit.
However, these two state governors aren’t the only ones who are supposed to replicate what Governor Fintiri did, it’s just that Sokoto and Kaduna have been on the headlines lately as a result of attacks and killings by bandits and terrorists.
