The altercation erupted when the brothers arrived home to find their mother, Melidah, with a man named Joseph, in what they perceived as a betrayal of their father, who was absent due to his teaching job.
In a fit of rage, the brothers allegedly assaulted their mother and her companion with machetes, causing severe injuries. The victims were promptly rushed to a health center for urgent medical care.
Fred Enanga, the spokesperson for Uganda Police, has strongly condemned the attack, stressing the sanctity of maternal respect. He advised that such family disputes should be addressed through dialogue with family members, community elders, or the police, rather than resorting to violence.
