A popular Premier League legend, Carlos Tevez has just been appointed as Rosario Central manager, and thus, he will continue his football career as a manager. Thus, since he’s not the only player in this category, we will be seeing other players who are like him.

Below are the players, and a few details about their managerial careers in the Premier League:

1. Javier Mascherano

He played for West Ham United between 2006 and 2007. He joined Liverpool immediately after he left West Ham United. He played for Liverpool for 3 years, between 2007 and 2010.

After his career as a player, he became Argentina’s manager for the under-20 players. He became the team’s manager in 2021, and he’s still managing the team.

2. Patrick Vieira

Vieira is rated as one of the Premier League’s legends. He played for Arsenal between 1996 and 2005. He eventually left Arsenal and joined another club. The second EPL team he played for was Manchester City, and he only played for the club for a season (2010/11).

After he retired as a player, he has served as a manager for 3 teams, however, he’s currently managing Crystal Palace in the Premier League. He became Crystal Palace’s manager last year, 2021.

3. Vincent Kompany

The only EPL team played for in his football career was Manchester United City, and he spent the majority of his football career playing for the club. He played for Manchester City between 2008 and 2019.

After his career as a manager, he joined Anderlecht as the club’s manager in 2020. However, he’s currently managing Burnley in the Premier League.

4. Ruud Van Nistelrooy

Nistelrooy is a Manchester United legend. He played for the club between 2001 and 2006. He became the assistant manager of the Netherlands national team in 2014. He’s however currently serving as PSV manager. He became the team’s manager just this year, 2022.

5. Mikel Arteta

Arteta played for 2 teams in the Premier League – Everton and Arsenal. However, he’s currently serving as Arsenal’s manager. He became the team’s manager in 2019.

6. Wayne Rooney

Rooney is one of the best players Manchester United ever had. He spent most of his career playing for Manchester United. He played for the team between 2004 and 2017.

Before joining Manchester United, he played for Everton between 2002 and 2004. However, he rejoined Everton immediately after leaving Manchester United in 2017.

He retired as a player in 2017. He then went on to become Derby County’s manager in 2020, and he’s currently serving in the club.

7. Thierry Henry

Henry is also a player who spent a major part of his career playing for Arsenal. He played for Arsenal between 1999 and 2007. He left the club at a point and returned to the club in 2012.

He has in 3 different teams as a manager. He served as Belgium’s assistant manager between 2016 and 2018. After that, he served as Monaco’s manager between 2018 and 2019.

He went on to become Montreal Impact manager between 2019 and 2021. In 2021, he returned as Belgium’s assistant manager, and he’s currently serving there.

8. Frank Lampard

Lampard is one of Premier League’s legends. He played for three different teams in the league – West Ham United, Manchester City, and Chelsea, however, he’s majorly known for his career at Chelsea. He played for Chelsea between 2001 and 2014.

However, he’s currently serving as Everton’s manager, after he once served at Derby County and Chelsea.

9. Steven Gerrard

The Liverpool legend played for Liverpool between 1998 and 2015, and he’s one of the Longest-serving players Liverpool ever had. After he retired as a player, he served as Rangers manager between 2018 and 2021. However, he became Aston Villa’s manager in 2021, and currently serving on the team.

10. Carlos Tevez

He also played for three clubs in the Premier League – West Ham United, Manchester United, and Manchester City. He played for Manchester United between 2007 and 2009. He left Manchester United in 2009 and joined Manchester City in the same year. He played for Manchester City between 2009 and 2013. He has now been assigned as Rosario Central manager this year.

Thus, these are Premier League legends who performed well as players, and all of them ended up taking up a managerial career, and they are currently serving in one club or the other.
